A Message from the President

Welcome to the Theta Sigma chapter of Alpha Chi Omega! We pride ourselves on recruiting members that demonstrate characteristics of our 5 criteria: Leadership Ability, Character, Academic Interest, Financial Responsibility, and Personal Development.

By doing this, we are able to watch our sisters grow into Real Strong Women and prepare each other for life after college. As President, I intend to provide every member with the opportunity to find themselves as young women while at the same time enjoy a positive and fun college experience!

Alpha Chi Omega’s Five Membership Criteria

Leadership Ability

Alpha Chi Omega believes that character, personality, and leadership are developed through participation in campus activities and encourages each collegian to take on leadership roles both in and outside the chapter. Theta Sigma currently has 40% of its members holding leadership positions outside of the organization. These can include anything from, community programs, campus clubs, Swoop Squad Leaders, Presidential Envoys, Greek Ambassadors, Panhellenic Exec, Order of Omega and much more.

Alpha Chi Omega expects members to accept and reflect moral integrity and dignity, social awareness and fraternity loyalty. Set forth by Nationals, we meet three times per semester for our MyJourney program. The program is designed for members to reflect and discuss personal decisions throughout their life and further their growth as an individual and as a chapter as a whole.

Academic Interest

Alpha Chi Omega believes in the importance of intellectual development and encourages sound scholarship and intellectual achievement. We believe members are here to academically succeed while having fun at the same time. As a chapter, we require a minimum GPA for membership and we hold our members accountable for their GPA.

Financial Responsibility

Alpha Chi Omega expects members to be responsible for the prompt payment of all dues and fees and other financial commitments. Along with Alpha Chi finances, we want our members to be financially responsible outside of the chapter. Our VP of Finance, Keely Jamison, works with members individually to set up appropriate budgets to meet their personalized needs and works to develop a life-long skill of budgeting money.

Personal Development

Alpha Chi Omega believes in the development of members in their cultural appreciation, social awareness, and personal presentation. To increase cultural appreciation, we take semesterly trips to various museums in Jacksonville, this is also a fun way for us to show our appreciation for being founded on the fine arts.
